Summary
Description
Learn to stretch your own canvas!
Prestretched canvases from Micheal's or any other art supply store can be very expensive and inhibiting to ones progression in painting. With only lumber that can be bought at Home Depot and canvas that can be bought at any fabric supply you can create a canvas of any size.
While building your canvas you’ll learn to use:
Measuring tape
Chop saw
Pneumatic air tools
Staple gun
And while other students are stretching the canvas onto the wood you will each get a small one on one welding intro. Very basic, but a small run down of the mechanics at work and attaching two pieces of metal together with a MIG welder.
Please wear closed toed shoes and non-synthetic clothing for this workshop. This event is in collaboration with Hatch Workshop, CCHAI, Goodstock Productions Co., Placeholder Magazine, Stockton Art League, Tuleburg Press and sponsored by a City of Stockton Community Support Grant.
