Ceramic Pinch Pot Monsters! (4/19/24)

A great single session class for beginners! Make and learn about pinch pots and clay attachments in this two hour session led by Ceramic Studio Specialist, Jackie Bahnsen. Students will hand build one clay pinch pot starting with a sphere and then pinching to create the form. Then we'll make our monster features and go over how to attach pieces to our monsters using slip or liquid clay. Stamps and tools will be available for experimentation. 

This class utilizes underglaze to achieve the form and color of our creations in one session. Students will apply color to their pieces during the second half of the workshop and an optional carving technique referred to as Sgraffito will be demonstrated. Our monsters will then dry over the following days and go through the firing process and a clear glaze will be applied by the instructor. Return in a few weeks to take home your fired creations! Students will receive an email when pieces are ready for pick up. 

This is a hand building workshop, this class does not include the potters wheel.

All materials and equipment supplied. 

Ages: 10+

Children aged 15 and under must have accompanying adult.

Dress weather appropriate! The studios are not climate controlled. Studio clothes recommended, things can get messy!
